Been a long time....

Truly. I have been away from blogging and have enjoyed a very productive (and hope to continue the trend) time for the past few months.

It took some time, but you eventually realize that no matter how much you deny that something has an affect on you, it really does, and that one thing (however small or seemingly minute) can ripple through your life like the aftershock of a catastrophic disaster. And there you are, picking up pieces, mumbling to yourself that it really isn't that bad, and that you can handle it, and you know what, maybe its someone ELSES issue and not yours. SO FUCKING THERE.

Well, I call bullshit.

My last job got to take over my life and that is not going to happen again. My ass is not young enough or naive enough anymore to deal with that crap. Seriously. Do you think that I want to have a ridiculously undereducated boss tell me what is right, or that I am wrong? Fuck no.

So to make a long story short, I have left a bad job, to take on a wonderful one. I have since been able to spend more time with friend, family and Nick. I have also been able to have ample time to follow my creative needs towards growing my skills as a photographer and entering into a new realm of the field: stock photography. I am more active outdoors with summertime fun (movies in the park, museums and concerts) and have been able to find a peace that I haven't had in a long time.

Now, if only I can become a millionaire and own my place here in nyc and have a hybrid car to drive out to my cottage upstate on the weekends. Enjoy weekends off with friends and my love outside by a roaring campfire whilst listening to the woods, or Skynard or Beethoven. Wind up and throw a nasty ass, slimey with saliva tennis ball into the void only to have it dropped at my feet again and I am obliged to pet my dog and thank him for bringing the blasted thing back. Laugh out loud at how unfathomable the universe and its reach is,and reflect on the latest book I have cracked open in the hopes to expand my knowledge, all the time quizzing my pals as to the relevance or truth of the values and science written within....to finally strip naked and swim by the moonlight without a care.

Until then, this time is pretty rad.

Peep this pic as well....I think it is fantastic (Jamaica:awesome but very VERY fucking humid...my lens hated life):
